Competence Framework for Virtual Team Working:
Results from Primary Assessment
The research activities carried out by VIBES’ participating organisations are two folded: on one hand, partners assessed and evaluated literature sources that could provide for interesting data and good practices on how the phenomenon of virtual team skills is tackled by EU education and training institutions; on the other, partners interviewed stakeholders leading and/or participating in virtual teams to gather from them experience-based insights on what works and what doesn’t in remote working settings.
Their feedback was intended to: corroborate the takeaways and lessons learnt from the literature review; inform the outline, design and content of the training curricula.
In total, we built an audience of 33 respondents from seven countries. From them, we were interested in knowing what were (are) values, attitudes, skills and knowledge that are most relevant for effective and efficient virtual team working’s dynamics.
For each of the most recurrent topic (i.e., themes instrumental to facilitate virtual team working), there seems to be associated a series of well-defined challenges:
