DigHealth Project Strengthens Telemedicine Education in Ethiopia and Somalia
The DigHealth Project, an EU-funded Erasmus+ capacity-building initiative, continues to make strides in advancing digital health education in Ethiopia and Somalia. During a recent online coordination meeting, project partners aligned on critical updates and upcoming milestones.
As part of its current phase, DigHealth is:
- Conducting stakeholder data collection on the education and training needs in telemedicine across both countries.
- Developing a comprehensive report on the status of telemedicine in Ethiopia and Somalia.
- Preparing training sessions for university educators in both countries, scheduled for September 2025.
- Planning strategic equipment purchases to enhance local digital education infrastructure.
The project — officially titled DigHealth – Micro-credentials in Digital Health for Ethiopia and Somalia — aims to improve healthcare education systems through innovative micro-credentials in e-health, telemedicine and digital literacy.
Through a dynamic EU-Africa partnership, the project reinforces the EU’s commitment to equitable, high-quality health systems powered by digital innovation.
