Successful Launch of the INNOVET LATAM Project and Official Kick-Off Meeting Held in Brussels
The consortium leading the INNOVET LATAM Project is proud to announce the official start of the initiative, marked by the successful Kick-Off Meeting held in Brussels on March 17, 2025. This ambitious project, focused on Capacity Building in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, is co-financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission. Its core mission is to initiate and foster sustainable reforms aimed at empowering partner countries to strengthen and modernize their VET systems.
The project comes at a crucial time. The socio-economic repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic have further deepened the structural challenges faced by countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, already struggling with significant barriers to development. The LAC region has been one of the hardest hit globally, with the crisis leaving a lasting impact on both education and socio-economic conditions.
INNOVET LATAM responds directly to these challenges, targeting the specific needs of VET institutions in Venezuela and Guatemala. The project is designed to support these partners in upgrading and innovating their VET systems, enhancing their resilience, competitiveness, and relevance. The ultimate goal is to create more adaptive training systems, capable of responding effectively to evolving economic, technological and social dynamics—while promoting the inclusion of people from rural and marginalized urban areas into the labor market.
The projects brings together a consortium of 8 international partners, combining expertise from Europe and Latin America:
- Fundación ECCA Social (Spain)
- Institut de Haute Formation aux Politiques Communautaires (Belgium)
- Asociación de Servicios Educativos y Culturales (Guatemala)
- IT Solutions for All (Spain)
- IAL Innovazione Apprendimento Lavoro Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy)
- Asociación Civil Fe y Alegría (Venezuela)
- Universidad Popular de Guatemala (Guatemala)
- Grupo Social CESAP (Venezuela)
The INNOVET LATAM Project is organized into 4 key Work Packages (WPs), each designed to address fundamental project objectives:
- WP1: Efficient project management to ensure smooth coordination and delivery over the 24-month period
- WP2: Development of the INNOVET cooperation model between the EU and partner countries, along with tailored training programmes and tools
- WP3: Strengthening institutional capacities and rolling out the VET WEB mobility framework
- WP4: Communication, dissemination, and valorization actions to boost visibility and ensure long-term impact
This milestone marks the beginning of a collaborative journey to foster innovation, inclusion and sustainable growth in vocational training across the LAC region.
