INNOVET LATAM: First Mobility in Brussels Unites Partners from Latin America and Europe

The INNOVET LATAM Project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, successfully completed its first international mobility event, hosted by IHF at its Brussels office from March 16 to March 21, 2025.

Partners from Europe and LAC region gathered to collaborate on key Capacity Building activities to strengthen Vocational Education and Training (VET) systems in Latin America. This mobility event also marked the official Kick-Off Meeting of the project, a crucial milestone for INNOVET LATAM’s mission to foster innovation, inclusion and sustainability within VET ecosystems in Venezuela and Guatemala.

The week included a variety of strategic activities, including:

  • An open discussion on shared challenges and opportunities between the EU and LATAM VET landscapes, with a focus on drivers for resilience and adaptation to evolving labour market trends.
  • A visit to the main EU Institutions, offering LATAM partners valuable insights into EU governance and decision-making processes.
  • Sessions focused on adapting EU frameworks to LATAM needs, exploring the European Qualification Framework, the EU Skills, Competences and Occupations Framework and simulation scenarios.

Throughout the week, partners shared best practices and tailored EU resources to the local contexts of Venezuela and Guatemala, ensuring the project’s future actions will be impactful and sustainable.

This international mobility not only strengthened cooperation among the consortium’s 8 partner organizations but also reinforced a shared commitment to enhancing educational and professional opportunities for marginalized and rural communities in Latin America.

The INNOVET LATAM Project will continue its mission through additional capacity building activities and international mobilities in the coming months.
