IHF joined the 2nd Transnational Virtual Meeting of DIVERSITY
Including Migrants through Organisational Development and Programme Planning in Adult Education
On May 28th and 29th IHF asbl joined the 2nd Transnational Virtual Meeting of DIVERSITY, a Project co-funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme of the European Commission which involves a Consortium of 7 Partners from 6 countries, i.e. Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Ireland and Italy. The meeting, originally planned in Maynooth, IE, has been realised in online mode due to the COVID related restrictions.
DIVERSITY – Including Migrants through Organisational Development and Programme Planning in Adult Education – aims at:
- Accompany the EU Adult Education system in the mentality shift from focusing on migrants as very specific target groups and preparing them for integration into the society
- Raising awareness for migration related diversity, its challenges and its opportunities (referring to cultural and pedagogical but equally to economic aspects) with managers and planners in AE as well as policy makers
- Equipping managers and planners with the skills needed to open AE providers to migrants as a regular target group
At the meeting, Partners drafted different questionnaires for different target groups in order to assess the readiness level of Adult Education providers in intercepting migrants’ needs and requirements based on their linguistic, cultural and social diversities. The questionnaires will be used for interviews and to be filled out by stakeholders themselves.
In DIVERSITY, IHF asbl brings its expertise and experience as a key social player in international and European projects. In particular, IHF asbl ensures the “European Dimension” of DIVERSITY as it carries out all the technical tasks from a “European Perspective”, i.e. carrying out analysis of relevant EU policies and initiatives, extrapolating EU relevant case studies, lessons learned and best practices. More importantly, IHF asbl will represent DIVERSITY in Brussels, vis a’ vis EU Stakeholders (EU relevant associations and actors), EU Policy makers and institutions. IHF asbl guarantees a presence of DIVERSITY in Brussels also from a dissemination and exploitation perspective, ensuring that the project activities and outputs are properly showcased in the most relevant settings, like EU wide events and forum like the European Week of Regions and Cities, the European Vocational Skills Week, Erasmus+ Info Days and events, etc. Moreover, IHF asbl brings its consolidated experience and expertise in promotion of entrepreneurial spirit, especially among specific target groups at social or economic disadvantage (i.e. low skilled adults, unemployed, youth, female, etc).
